WASHINGTON (9/10/14)--The state of small depository institutions, including credit unions, will be the subject of a hearing by the Senate Banking Committee Sept. 16. The hearing is titled "Examining the State of Small Depository Institutions."
Dennis Pierce, board chair for the Credit Union National Association and CEO of CommunityAmerica CU, Kansas City, Mo., with $1.9 billion in assets, will testify about the challenges credit unions face under increasing regulatory requirements.
The hearing will consist of two panels: one featuring representatives from federal regulatory agencies, and the second featuring witnesses from financial institutions and trade organizations.
