ONTARIO, Calif. (12/12/14)--As a result of an overwhelming response to its 20 for 20 anniversary campaign, CU Direct will donate an additional $20,000 to CMN Hospitals.
The credit union lending, automotive and strategic solutions firm unveiled the charity campaign Dec. 2, inviting credit unions and their members to visit the event's website to cast a vote for the CMN Hospital of their choice. In honor of the company's 20th anniversary, it will award $20,000 to the winning hospital.
Since the campaign's launch, CU Direct has received more than 80,000 votes for CMN Hospitals nationwide. As a result of the response, and because there are so many deserving hospitals, the company has committed a total donation of $40,000 to provide support to multiple hospitals.
The additional donation will be given to the contest's four runner-up hospitals (second- through fifth-place finishers). Each of the runner-up hospitals will receive $5,000 from CU Direct. The credit unions with the most votes toward the runner-up hospitals also will be invited to co-present the $5,000 checks from CU Direct.
The campaign runs through Dec. 22, and participants can vote once per day. CU Direct will announce the winning CMN Hospital and four runner-up hospitals Dec. 23.
The campaign is nationwide, and all credit unions and credit union members are encouraged to vote for their local CMN Hospital.
CMN Hospitals have been an important cause to CU Direct for the past decade, as the company has been an active sponsor of the Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction, benefitting CMN Hospitals in Nevada and California. The annual event has helped raise more than $2.6 million since 2006.
CU Direct boasts a lending network of 1,100 credit unions and 11,400 dealers. Since 1994, it has facilitated more than 7.4 million auto loans totaling roughly $157 billion.
