MADISON, Wis. (12/2/14)--News Now is excited to announce the launch of a new, bimonthly series: The CU Effect.
The series will give readers a new look at how credit unions reach out to their communities--with actions great or small--to make a difference in the world. It will illuminate how they are fostering service excellence and positioning themselves as consumers' best financial partners.
The series starts tomorrow, Dec. 3, and will run every other Wednesday. The stories will be representative of what is successful--or sometimes not--different, trendy or maybe even just plain fun. The snapshots will capture the credit union difference and the beneficiaries of credit unions' work.
By nature of their cooperative structure, credit unions uphold seven principles--voluntary and open membership; democratic member control; members' economic participation; autonomy and independence; education, training and information; cooperation among cooperatives; and concern for community--principles that also drive The CU Effect.
The stories will be linked by the keywords "CU Effect" and will be a revolving topic on the cuna.org homepage. They also will be archived on the Press Room page of the Credit Union National Association website.
