NCUA's Fazio among speakers at Minn. annual meeting

April 14, 2015
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (4/15/15)--A number of high-profile speakers addressed the Minnesota Credit Union Network's (MnCUN) annual meeting last week at the Mall of America, treating the 400 credit union representatives in attendance to a broad spectrum of topics.

Larry Fazio, director of the Office of Examination and Insurance for the National Credit Union Administration, spoke at the event, as did Narayana Kocherlakota, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minnesota.

Kocherlakota discussed employment trends and expectations about interest rates.

Attendees also participated in this year's business meeting, which featured an overview of credit union accomplishments, committee reports and board elections.

Three incumbents were re-elected to the league board, and one new member was elected.

The incumbents were:
  • Chuck Albrecht, president/CEO, MidMinnesota FCU, Baxter, who was elected to the seat representing credit unions outside the Twin Cities Metro area;
  • Mary Hansen, president/CEO, Mayo Employees FCU, Rochester, who was elected to the seat representing credit unions with more than 10,000 members; and
  • Julia Havens, president/CEO, Riverview CU, South St. Paul, who was elected to the seat representing credit unions with less than 2,000 members.
Randy Willert, president/CEO, Two Harbors FCU, was newly elected to the seat representing credit unions having between 2,001 and 10,000 members.

Albrecht was named board chair; Kelly McDonough, president/CEO, First Alliance CU, Rochester, was named vice chair; and Dan Stoltz, president/CEO, SPIRE CU, Falcon Heights, was named secretary/treasurer.
