HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. (2/12/15)--Two credit unions will face off in this year's "Creative You" competition, an event from the New Jersey Credit Union League (NJCUL) where teams of credit union employees try to devise creative solutions to issues facing the credit union industry.
Teams from throughout the state developed their ideas, which they presented to the league with introductory video entries in January (The Daily Exchange Feb. 11).
The team from First Financial FCU, Wall, N.J., with $186 million in assets, developed a financial education mobile app that it calls "FFroogle," or the financial Google, through which members can punch in questions they have about finances, similar to a live chat format.
First Financial will compete against a team from CU of New Jersey, Ewing, N.J., with $334 million in assets.
The CU of New Jersey team also went the mobile route, developing a concierge app that they have modeled after similar products offered by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. and Disney.
The competition includes preliminary presentations April 13 at the 2015 CU Reality Check Conference in Atlantic City, and final presentations Oct. 5 at the NJCUL Convention, also in Atlantic City.
