MADISON, Wis. (10/15/14)--By building relationships between credit unions and community organizations, Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran has become an architect of financial literacy programs.
Moran is one of 46 credit union professionals profiled in a special edition of Credit Union Magazine that highlights "Rock Star" achievers in the movement. She recently was elected to the board of the National Credit Union Foundation as well.
While she and her staff train and build networks of financial educators, they also promote the credit union movement to nonprofits, government agencies, churches and teachers.
"It creates community partnership opportunities and increases the value of credit unions to the organizations we partner with," Moran told Credit Union Magazine.
The foundation conducts one-day financial literacy "Train the Trainer" sessions in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas; sponsors the two-day FOCUS Summit on financial literacy; and underwrites programs that educate children and adults on financial matters.
