WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (3/25/15)--Truliant FCU announced Tuesday it will add 10 branches in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg, N.C., area over the next two years, which will create more than 120 jobs and bring $11 million into the regional economy.
"We're ready to write the next chapter for financial institutions in this city," said Marc Schaefer, president/CEO of the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based credit union. "Truliant is different from traditional stockholder-owned banks. Finding the best fit for the financial health of our members comes first. We don't shift our guidance based on where profits are the highest."
The expansion will result in a total of 14 branches, most about half the size of previous branch layouts and designed with features such as Wi-Fi, teller pods and smart ATMs.
Truliant also announced its $100,000 MyWhy social media campaign that asks entrants how $25,000 will help them achieve their "why" in life. Participants can upload videos, post updates on social media and enter at upcoming community events. #MyWhy entries will be accepted until midnight May 23.
"This initiative celebrates all the reasons that make us want to improve our own lives and the lives of our families," Schaefer said. "Whether you need more space for your growing family, an SUV to haul your children or funds for your college education, we're here to help you achieve your goals. Your 'why' is our 'why.'"
