Applications for HUD housing counseling panel due May 14
WASHINGTON (5/6/15)--A newly established advisory committee of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is seeking membership applications from financial industry stakeholders and others through May 14.
The Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee’s (HCFAC) mission is to advise the Office of Housing Counseling (OHC) with information it needs to meet its mission of providing individuals and families with knowledge on obtaining, sustaining and improving their housing through a strong national network of HUD-approved housing counseling agencies and counselors.
The HCFAC will consist of no more than 12 individuals equally representing the mortgage and real estate industry, consumers and HUD-approved counseling agencies. Each member will be appointed for a term of three years and may be re-appointed.
According to HUD, the committee will not have a role in reviewing or awarding OHC housing counseling grants and procurement contracts.
All applications must be received no later than May 14.
