ST. SartellCLOUD, Minn. (5/29/15)--A matched grant from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation and St. Cloud (Minn.) FCU is connecting Sartell (Minn.) High School with microfinancing opportunities in developing countries. The $5,000 will support the ninth-grade human geography course that combines financial education, business development, and lending practices. The students acquire “financial and world knowledge, confidence and skills to develop passion by having to present their findings that result in a real impact,” said teacher Roy Snyder. EL PASO, Texas (5/29/15)--Max Villaronga, president/CEO, El Paso Area Teachers FCU, announced the proposed merger of the El Paso, Texas, credit union with Golden Key FCU, also in El Paso. Golden Key’s branch will become the ninth branch for El Paso Area Teachers, and all staff will remain with the credit union after the merger (El Paso Inc. May 27)...

ALBANY, N.Y. (5/29/15)--Jeff Rodman, president/CEO, Actors FCU, announced his retirement from the New York-based credit union at the end of July (The Point May 27). Rodman has been with the credit union for nearly 38 years and has been president/CEO for the past 32 years. Under Rodman, the credit union expanded to 25,000 members nationwide with branches in Manhattan, Chicago, Los Angeles and Hollywood. He also worked to build out the Actors FCU ATM network, which includes more than 300 locations in New York City. Steven Goldberger, vice president of operations, was named as Rodman’s successor ...
