Thompson leaving CUAD as president/CEO, Olson set as interim
BISMARCK, N.D. (6/26/15)--Robbie Thompson will step down from his post as president/CEO of the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD), the league’s board announced Thursday.
Thompson will leave the association effective July 23 to take a position as executive director of the Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS) in Minneapolis.
Jeff Olson, executive vice president of government affairs, will helm the association as interim CEO effective July 24 while the board searches for Thompson’s replacement.
“I have full faith in Jeff and the rest of the CUAD staff to continue moving the association forward in a positive direction,” Thompson said in a press release. “Our staff is amazing and the association’s future is bright, but this is a tremendous opportunity for me with PLUS, and a chance for my family to return home.”
The board commended Thompson for his commitment. A native of Minnesota, Thompson served as CUAD’s president/CEO for five years.
“Under his leadership, CUAD has become a more relevant, efficient and effective organization,” said Travis Kasten, CUAD board chair and president/CEO of Service First FCU, Sioux Falls, S.D. “The CUAD board has a formal succession plan, and we are fully prepared to address this departure and ensure that CUAD continues its fine work on behalf of our members.”
