Conference food truck event whetting Denver media’s appetite
DENVER (7/8/15)--Credit unions from around the world will soon descend upon Denver for the America’s Credit Union Conference and World Credit Union Conference, and local media outlets have already taken notice.
In an article Monday, the Denver Business Journal wrote about CUNA’s forthcoming participation in the Civic Center EATS series, a local food truck event.
CUNA will serve up coupons for free tacos July 14 in Civic Center Park in an effort to raise awareness for credit unions as part of the overarching conference, running July 12-15 and presented by CUNA and the World Council of Credit Unions.
The Business Journal reported that the credit union conference will bring in roughly 3,000 attendees from 61 different countries, creating a cumulative estimated $7 million economic impact on the local economy.
KUSA-TV also previewed the event, billing the food truck sponsorship as a meet-and-greet, in which passers-by can meet a credit union representative and receive a free taco.
“Is there such thing as a free lunch?” the article said. “CUNA, a trade association for credit unions, says there is. Well, at least a free taco.”
