WASHINGTON (7/9/15)--Allegations from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) have led a federal court to halt and freeze the assets of a nationwide telemarketing scam. According to the FTC, scammers used a variety of phony business names and websites to falsely promise consumers with credit card debt that they could save thousands of dollars. The consumers did not receive promised results of refunds; instead they sank deeper into debt.
