SALEM, Mass. (7/9/15)--A recent merger between two Salem, Mass., credit unions already is paying dividends to members. The July 6 Salem News reported the experience of businessman John Boris who received a loyalty dividend of $525 from his decade-long relationship with Seaport CU, which merged with St. Jean’s CU effective July 1. St. Jean’s CU President/CEO C. David Surface said Seaport members received a total of $1.5 million in loyalty dividends based on the number of years they were members. Seaport CU’s former president/CEO Patricia Warren said the credit union looked for a partner to provide additional products and services to its membership. “Times are getting a little tougher for smaller credit unions,” she told the Salem News, citing costs for compliance and technology ...

ABNBCHESAPEAKE, Va. (7/9/15)--ABNB FCU reeled in more than $53,000 with its 12th annual Fishing Fest, which benefits the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Norfolk, Va. The Chesapeake, Va.-based credit union has raised nearly $500,000 through the annual half-day event. BISMARCK, N.D. (7/9/15)--Jeff Meyer is the new CEO of Dakota West CU, Watford City, N.D.(The Memo July 8). He succeeds Denton Zubke, who led the credit union since 1987. In November, Zubke was elected to the 39th District of the North Dakota House of Representatives. Meyer most recently was president of CU Succeed LLC, a strategic advisory and consulting firm that he founded in 2013.
