BRIDGETON, Mo. (8/3/15)--Vantage CU, Bridgeton, Mo., hosts monthly food truck events at its administration building, and one of the most recent culinary visitors had a credit union connection. Mel’s Food Truck, which sells breakfast, lunch and dessert items, was revealed to have a link to the credit union. It is owned and operated by the mother and daughter-in-law of one of the credit union’s employees. “Our employees look forward to each month’s food truck and enjoy supporting local businesses in our community,” the credit union wrote on its LocalFlavorSTL blog ...

BANGOR, Maine (8/3/15)--An 87-year-old widower is $15,000 closer to his goal of raising a half-million dollars to fight children’s cancer (WABI-TV July 28). Sylvio Normandeau has raised $452,000 in honor of his wife who died of cancer in the 1990s. Last week, New Dimensions FCU, Waterville, Maine, donated $15,185.90, which was raised with its “Cruisin for a Cure” initiative and CO-OP Financial Services’ Miracle Match program.  Normandeau has his sights on meeting and surpassing his goal of helping the Maine Children’s Cancer Program. “I don’t think I could stop at a half-a-million,” he told WABI-TV ...
