PENFIELD, N.Y. (9/28/15)--Thomas Dambra has been named president/CEO of Family First FCU,  succeeding Christine Peters, announced the Penfield, N.Y.-based credit union’s board Thursday. Dambra previously served as senior vice president of financial planning and analysis at Tompkins Financial Corp. Prior to that he spent seven years as senior vice president of community banking for the Bank of Castile, a Tompkins community bank. He is the fifth president/CEO in the credit union’s 46-year history. Peters left the credit union to relocate in another area. ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (9/28/15)--John Herbert Marean, founder of Reno (Nev.) Teacher’s  FCU (now United FCU) has died, said the St. Joseph, Mich.-based credit union. Marean was a teacher at Reno Teacher’s High School. In 1949 he and several colleagues formed the credit union, which became Clear Star CU before joining United FCU in 2009.  UFCU Nevada Region Vice President Danny DeLaRosa noted that Marean “helped set the path that led to the success we enjoy today as United FCU.
