Louisiana league launches awareness campaign

October 7, 2015

HARAHAN, La. (10/7/15)--The Louisiana Credit Union League (LCUL) has launched a two-week digital ad campaign to increase consumer awareness about the direct benefits of credit unions. The online ads will run throughout the state from Oct. 1 through Oct. 15, International Credit Union Day.

The ad campaign also encourages consumers to join a credit union for their financial needs, said the league (eNews Sept. 30). The online ads are featured on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and other social media networks.

The ads, developed by the league, inform consumers about the purpose, importance and benefits of banking at not-for-profit credit unions and direct consumers to CUNA’s site to learn more about credit unions and to search for a credit union near them.

“Residents across Louisiana continue to discover the credit union difference for their families and businesses,” said LCUL President/CEO Anne Cochran. “Louisiana credit unions exceeded $10 billion in total assets for the first time this year, signifying the accomplishments and hard work of credit unions to provide the best services possible.”

Also, on Oct. 15, the league will launch an infographic on local, micro-niche blogs based in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette and Shreveport. It includes statistical information from a recent economic impact study conducted on behalf of the league by economist Dr. Loren Scott, which analyzed Louisiana credit unions’ impact on the state economy.
