Social media phase of CUNA's Middle Class 2016 kicks off
WASHINGTON (11/9/15)--CUNA is kicking off the social media portion of its “Strong Credit Unions, Strong Middle Class” campaign leading up to Tuesday’s Republican presidential candidate debate.
Launched last month, CUNA’s Middle Class 2016 campaign provides credit union stakeholders the opportunity to reach out to presidential candidates about the important, numerous ways credit unions serve middle-class Americans.
“The goal of this campaign is to further educate our members about the benefits of membership in a credit union and convey that stronger credit unions mean a stronger middle class,” said CUNA Chief Political Officer Richard Gose. “Additionally, we want to share this message with the presidential candidates as they campaign and formulate their economic policies.”
Credit union stakeholders can also visit www.MiddleClass2016.com to learn what presidential candidates have said about the middle class, tweet messages to each candidate reminding them of the importance of credit unions when it comes to serving the middle class and sign a petition espousing credit union service.
This aspect of the Middle Class campaign is designed to increase the number of tweets highlighting the many ways credit unions help America’s middle class by “putting credit unions’ economic concerns on the front burner in 2016,” Gose said.
“Tuesday will be the first of a number of debate days in the coming months where we will work to push our credit union middle-class message out on social media,” he added. “We want the presidential candidates and political leaders across our nation to remember that credit union members and our concerns are critical in 2016.”
Starting Tuesday, CUNA is asking credit union leaders to tweet the following:
