CUNA welcomes members’ questions after circulating draft bylaws

WASHINGTON (2/9/16)--The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) is welcoming comments regarding the trade association’s draft bylaws after distributing them to member credit unions Monday.

Ballots also were sent Monday, and voting--which coincides with the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC)--will conclude March 18. Results will be announced the week of March 21.

Also, member credit unions will have in-person opportunities to learn more about the bylaws or the voting process at CUNA GAC.

Two dedicated breakout sessions are scheduled for 4:30-5:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, and 1:15-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23.

CUNA senior executives also will be on hand at CUNA GAC to answer questions.

The main issues addressed in the restated bylaws include: choice regarding membership in CUNA; the ability of the board to address CUNA's dues formula; and board structure and governance.
