2016 GAC Today: Video highlights from Wednesday
Advocacy takes center stage with Hill visits and legislators’ speeches.
Credit union leaders and national legislators brought their messages to each other Wednesday on Capitol Hill and at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as advocacy took center stage at the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC).
A series of congressional representatives spoke at GAC during the morning General Session, and credit union leaders from around the country visited their legislators for a discussion of important credit union issues during a massive Hike the Hill effort.
Also, political strategists Paul Begala and Mike Murphy engaged in a point-counterpoint about the 2016 elections with an eye on topics relevant to credit unions.
CUNA celebrated the winners of the Desjardins Awards for adult and youth financial education efforts with a video presentation during the general session, and CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle thanked the nearly 5,000 GAC attendees for their strong participation in this year’s conference.
