SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (3/22/16)--The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) has re-established a credit union league presence in South Dakota by opening a new office in Sioux Falls. The new office, housed within the Sioux Falls FCU administrative building, is an expansion of the CUAD’s Bismarck, N.D., headquarters. It marks a return to Sioux Falls after the South Dakota Credit Union League merged with the North Dakota Credit Union League in 2007 and relocated to Bismarck. “Re-establishing a physical presence in Sioux Falls has been a priority for the association since 2010 when we changed our name from Mid-America Credit Union Association to the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas,” said Jeff Olson, CUAD president/CEO. “As regulations continue to have an influence on the consolidation of credit unions, the amount of credit union activity in terms of members and assets is growing at a healthy rate in the state, especially in and around the Sioux Falls area.  With a jump in membership of nearly 9% in the past five years, the Sioux Falls area is definitely a place where we want to continue our focus of creating credit union awareness and promoting the credit union alternative to consumers in the state.” CUAD’s chief advocacy and compliance resources will be located in Sioux Falls ...
