Inside Washington: NCUA hosts consumer protection Twitter chat

The NCUA will host a live Twitter chat at 11 a.m. (ET) Wednesday to educate consumers on financial fraud. Participants can submit questions in advance to socialmedia@ncua.gov. Consumers can follow @MyCUgov and contribute to the conversation using the #NCUAChat hashtag on Twitter. During the chat, NCUA will share tips from MyCreditUnion.gov on how consumers can protect their finances and resources available on the agency's Fraud Prevention Center. The Twitter chat is part of NCUA's activities during Financial Literacy Month.

Low-income credit unions seeking grants from the NCUA can apply between June 1 and June 30 through the Community Development Revolving Loan Fund. Credit unions seeking support to grow, train staff and improve security should consider applying, according to the NCUA. Grants can be used for: capacity and growth (up to $15,000); cybersecurity (up to $7,000); staff training (up to $3,000); and student internships (up to $4,000).
