Washington, DC (May 9, 2018) – Candidates backed by America's credit unions saw election victories in North Carolina and Indiana yesterday.

Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) won his primary election by a wide margin of 6,596 votes, taking 43% to opponent Phil Law’s 29% and Scott Dacey’s 28%. Through a partisan communications campaign, the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and the Carolinas Credit Union League (CCUL) produced multiple rounds mailers that reached 21,000 credit union households.

The frontrunner in a heavily Republican open seat for the 6th Congressional District, Greg Pence (R-IN), saw an easy win for his primary. Pence is a small business owner, Marine veteran and brother of Vice President Mike Pence.

Robert Pittenger (R-N.C.) lost his primary election to former Baptist pastor Mark Harris by 814 votes and Conrad Lucas (R-W.V.) also saw defeat to Delegate Carol Miller in a bid to represent West Virginia's 3rd Congressional District.
