MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (January 8,2019) – A 10-year veteran on his supervisory committee and lifelong public servant, Redwood Credit Union’s David Gouin was announced as the first winner of the CUNA Supervisory Committee Award onsite at the CUNA Supervisory Committee and Internal Audit Conference in Las Vegas.

Receiving the award is a great reflection on Redwood Credit Union, not necessarily me as an individual,” said Gouin in a recent Credit Union Magazine interview. “Our mission statement is, “We passionately serve the best interests of our members, employees, and communities.” I’m so impressed with this organization. It represents the community more than any other organization.”

Gouin served as chair of Redwood CU’s supervisory committee in 2016 and 2017, during which he was an instrumental leader in his credit union’s relief efforts following devastating wildfires that impacted many of Redwood’s members. Gouin also greatly encouraged education and development among his fellow committee members during his tenure as chair.

Next year’s conference and award presentation will be held December 8-11, 2019 in Las Vegas. Any current supervisory member eligible for the award can be nominated by their colleagues.

To nominate a supervisory committee member, fill out this form. And for more details on the conference, please visit cuna.org/sciac.
