MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (January 8, 2019) – A product development specialist at Coastal Credit Union, Phil Kadzielawski has been named 2018’s Emerging Leader Award Winner, and was honored at CUNA Emerging Leader Institute, December 3-5 in Austin, TX.

An advocate for professional development and networking opportunities for young professionals in the Carolinas, Kadzielawski served an integral role in his credit union’s credit card conversion team and now focuses on credit and debit card portfolio growth and cardholder engagement.

“Leadership means something different to everyone. Leadership for me is contributing to something bigger than me. It is influencing others to contribute something meaningful,” said Kadzielawski in his acceptance speech. “It is enabling others to grow. It is persevering through the rough times and staying humble during the good. Leadership is what you interpret it to be based on where you are in your journey. And we all need to find what leadership means for us.”

The Emerging Leader Award is presented annually at CUNA Emerging Leader institute, an educational event designed to help credit union leaders develop effective management techniques. Next year’s event will be held December 2-4, 2019 in San Diego.
