This week in Congress: Senate testimony, robocalls and more
CUNA/League witness testimony before the Senate Banking Committee highlights a busy week in Congress, which also includes several hearings CUNA will be engaged with. Rachel Pross, Chief Risk Officer at Maps Credit Union, Salem, Ore., will testify during a hearing on legal cannabis businesses accessing financial services.
Pross, who previously testified before the House Financial Services Committee on the subject, will speak in support of the Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act. The bill would allow credit unions and banks to provide services to legal cannabis businesses and the ancillary businesses that serve them.
The SAFE Banking Act passed the House Financial Services Committee in March with a bipartisan 45-15 vote.
