Richard Ardisson

Board member, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union

November 14, 2019

I’ve served on the credit union board for 15 years and spent more than 23 years in the Army, serving in Korea, Germany, Egypt, and stateside.

My military experience taught me many valuable lessons. The most important ones I use in my volunteer position at Fort Knox Federal Credit Union are listening to people and understanding their perspective and addressing the need for financial literacy. As a microcosm of our society, too many soldiers lack the necessary skills to handle money and make sound financial decisions. This can be a detriment to a unit’s readiness and embarrassing for the individual. This also demonstrates the need for credit unions to provide financial services which are easy for service members to use anywhere around the world.

My background and experience in financial matters lends itself to helping soldier and civilian members worldwide.
