Credit unions are taking to social media to share information with members during the COVID-19 outbreak.

 

Rather than relying solely on words, Signal Financial Federal Credit Union in Kensington, Md., used a video message from its CEO to announce it was switching to a “by appointment only” model.

 

 

 

Pinellas Federal Credit Union in Largo, Fla., has increased the daily amounts members can withdraw from  its ATMs.

 

 

 

1st Financial Federal Credit Union in Wentzville, Mo., increased the limit on mobile check deposits.

 

 

 

The lobby might be closed and in-person events cancelled, but Harris County Federal Credit Union in Houston reminded members that despite a “Stay Home-Work Safe” order, members can still take advantage of the credit union’s financial education options.

 

 

 

VSECU in Montpelier, Vt., promoted its member emergency loan, which is also available to nonmembers through a partnership between the credit union and The Vermont Community Foundation.

 

 

 

Credit unions aren’t using social media just to relay financial information. They’re also using it to remind members of the steps they can take to remain safe.

Reliant Federal Credit Union in Casper, Wy., knows members are worried about falling victim to scams and provides information to ease those fears.
