Running toward relief

UW Credit Union, Madison, Wis., has partnered with former Wisconsin Badgers Football running back and NFL draft pick Jonathan Taylor to raise money for coronavirus (COVID-19) relief efforts.

The $3.5 billion asset credit union will donate $23 to both the United Way of Dane County and United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County for every new checking account opened with the organization’s Jump Around or Bucky debit cards.

“The $23 is significant on multiple levels,” says UW Credit Union President/CEO Paul Kundert. “Of course, it’s the number Jonathan has worn on his back for three great seasons at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. But it’s also a reflection of our shared pride in Wisconsin, a commitment to doing what we can to help carry others through these difficult times.”

Taylor, who was chosen in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts, became UW Credit Union’s first brand ambassador in January to support community groups with his time and talent.

Taylor hosted a virtual “Jump Around” for UW Credit Union to recognize essential workers serving members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Jump Around” is a gameday tradition that occurs during home Wisconsin Badgers Football games and other sporting events to fire up Badger fans.
