Tracey Ann Tippett

Operations department supervisor, TruNorth Federal Credit Union

November 6, 2020

I served in the United States Marine Corps from 1987 to 1992. I was a heavy equipment mechanic stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Arizona. Besides keeping all the equipment up and running, our base was considered a “hot” weather training base. There were a lot of Marines we came in contact with from all of the different bases across the United States.

During my service, the Gulf War/Operation Desert Storm was taking place. My unit provided equipment for ground support for the war. I served our country proudly and honorably as a United States Marine. There were always obstacles to conquer and overcome, but as Marines, we got the job done.

Today, I continue to serve our veteran community in Marquette County in Michigan. I am a life member of the Marine Corps League. I belong to the Lake Superior Detachment 764 and am the junior vice commandant. I am a lifetime member of the Military Order of Devil Dogs and belong to Northern Wolves Pound and am the finance officer. I am a member and former finance officer of American Legion Post 114, board trustee of the Marquette County Veteran’s Alliance, board member and secretary of the Marquette County Veteran’s Affairs Board, and the Marquette County Toys for Tots coordinator.

In the military, especially as a Marine, you always make sure you do the best job possible, you learn from your mistakes, you always try to better yourself, and make sure things work and function properly or else you find the solution to fix it. You follow rules and regulations.

I make sure my department at TruNorth Federal Credit Union is well-trained, is kept up to date on all of the latest rules and guidelines, and that we are a well-functioning department to my credit union. As part of the operations department, my team members are the glue that keeps the credit union up and running behind the scenes.
