Mark Volden

Courier, Westby Coop Credit Union (WCCU)

November 6, 2020

I served during Desert Storm. I was active from September 1990 to July 3, 1991. I also served with the 107th Maintenance Company located in Viroqua, Wis. I retired with 20 years of service and reached the rank of staff sergeant.

Our mission in Dahran, Saudi Arabia, was to unload ships from Germany. We unloaded 83. We also set up fuel points for advancing U.S. troops, maintained port operations, moved supplies forward as support, and other duties as assigned.

The military taught me to work hard and appreciate my supervisors and co-workers and also to do the job as best I can. In my role at Westby Coop Credit Union, I always try to improve and get more training.
