Nussle Thanks Sen. Blunt for Credit Union Support

March 8, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC

Credit Union National Association (CUNA) President/CEO Jim Nussle released the following statement after Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) announced Monday he will not seek re-election in 2022.

“Sen. Blunt has been a strong supporter of credit unions and a friend of mine dating back to our time together in the House. We’ve worked closely with him on data security and regulatory relief legislation, and he has always welcomed meetings and other engagement with our partners at the Heartland Credit Union League. CUNA, Leagues, and credit unions will miss Sen. Blunt. We wish him and his family the best going forward.”

Blunt co-sponsored the Economic Growth and Regulatory Relief (S. 2155), which was signed into law in 2018. He also introduced CUNA-backed data security legislation with Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) in previous Congresses and has appeared at CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference.
