CISA launches StopRansomware.gov to host resources
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) launched StopRansomware.gov this month to consolidate federal government resources designed to assist organizations in better protecting themselves against ransomware. The site defines ransomware as “an ever-evolving form of malware designed to encrypt files on a device, rendering any files and the systems that rely on them unusable. Malicious actors then demand ransom in exchange for decryption.”
The site hosts a collection of resources to help organizations understand ransomware, enhance their network defenses, and prepare to properly respond to and recover from ransomware incidents.
According to the Treasury, it is “committed to collaborating” with government and industry partners to combat ransomware.
