Robert Curtis

Board vice chair, Downeast Credit Union

November 9, 2021
I served in the U.S. Army from 1967 until 1969. I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, Fort Belvoir in Virginia, and Fort Carson in Colorado. I was assigned to the 5th Admin of the 5th Infantry Division at Fort Carson. My primary military occupational specialty was combat engineer. The 1st Brigade of the 5th Infantry served in Vietnam. I met two friends in the Army that I still keep in touch with. I have been a credit union volunteer for over 30 years. I recognized the advantage of credits unions and continuously support the credit union philosophy. I believe I have helped many people become credit union members and experience the advantage of credit union membership. As a board member at Downeast Credit Union in Maine, I have visited Washington, D.C. several times and always visit the Vietnam Memorial.
