Statement from CUNA’s Nussle on the Passing of Rep. Don Young

CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle issued the following statement in response to the passing of Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska. 

“A longtime champion of the credit union movement, Don Young will be missed. It was an honor to serve alongside Don in the House, and working with him to promote financial well-being for all has been humbly fulfilling. We will miss Don and his decades of friendship and leadership for America’s 130 million credit union members.”

Rep. Young served in the U. S. House of Representatives since 1973 and was the Dean of the House since 2017. Jim Nussle served alongside Rep. Young from 1991-2007.
