Cybersecurity resources available as war in Ukraine poses enhanced cyber threats to credit unions

May 11, 2022

CUNA’s cybersecurity webpage contains resources for credit unions—especially small credit unions—to help them prepare for threats presented by current geopolitical events. The Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) recently issued several alerts on increased cyberthreats because of the war in Ukraine.

The resources link to a recent CISA alert calling on organizations to “significantly lower” their thresholds for reporting and sharing indications of malicious cybersecurity.

Other resources on the page include:

  • CUNA’s advocacy materials on its priorities and engagement on cybersecurity issues.
  • Cybersecurity-related compliance resources.
  • A list of preferred credit union providers.
  • Links to cybersecurity assessment and training modules.

NCUA’s cybersecurity resources website contains information on its Automated Cybersecurity Evaluation Toolbox (ACET), information about incident reporting, regulations, guidance, and more.
