Harper confirmed by Senate for full term on NCUA board

June 8, 2022

The Senate confirmed NCUA Chairman Todd Harper to a five-year term through April 2027. Harper, who joined the board in April 2019 under President Donald Trump, was named chairman in January 2021 by President Joe Biden.

“Congratulations to Chairman Harper on his re-confirmation to the NCUA board. We look forward to continuing to engage him and the other NCUA board members to ensure that the National Credit Union Administration stays focused on its safety and soundness mission.”

Prior to joining the NCUA Board, Harper served as director of the agency’s Office of Public and Congressional Affairs and chief policy advisor to former Chairmen Debbie Matz and Rick Metsger. He also previously worked for the House as a subcommittee staff director and as legislative director and senior legislative assistant to former Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa.

Harper addressed 4,500 attendees at the 2022 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in March, outlining several regulatory initiatives.
