PODCAST: Creating an engaged workforce

Culture, collaboration, and people are keys to success, says Tony Budet.

September 1, 2022

Create a culture and an environment where teamwork and collaboration are a priority and you’ll have a workplace where people enjoy coming to work, have increased productivity, and are engaged in their jobs.

“When [new employees] first come into the organization, they always say they have truly enjoyed their short time with us but they keep expecting the other foot to fall. It’s like they can’t believe the environment here is as positive and uplifting as they’ve encountered,” says Tony Budet, CEO at $7.8 billion asset University Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas. “Our job is to make sure the other shoe doesn’t fall.”

University Federal received a 2022 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award for its workplace culture and engaged workforce.

In this episode of the CUNA News Podcast, Budet explains what an engaged workforce looks like, how University Federal engages staff, and the qualities needed to lead a highly engaged organization.
