CUNA’s Jason Stverak named NILE Top Lobbyist

November 15, 2022

The National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics (NILE) recognized CUNA Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Federal Government Affairs Jason Stverak as one of the top lobbyists of 2022. NILE is the professional association for those in the lobbying and grassroots profession, and it curates an annual list of top 100 professionals across the nation who helped lead significant legislative success in 2022.

“I am deeply honored to be named one of NILE’s Top 100 lobbyists. This is a team honor, and I am blessed to lead one of the most talented and effective advocacy teams in Washington, D.C.,” Stverak said. “I look forward to helping CUNA achieve its advocacy agenda through the end of this year and into the 118th Congress.”

Stverak’s work on behalf of credit unions and their 130 million members has resulted in multiple victories this year, including: the signing into law of the Credit Union Governance Modernization Act, House passage and Senate introduction of the most significant field of membership modernization since 1998, as well as helping stop the IRS snooping proposal.

Prior to joining CUNA, Stverak served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND). His professional background includes extensive experience in communications, political affairs, and public policy. Stverak also served as the president/CEO of the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity.
