Hearings on modern banking, housing scheduled this week

Both chambers of Congress are in Washington, D.C, this week. The Senate will consider pending executive branch and judicial nominations, and the House will consider various legislation.

The House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy will hold a hearing, “Revamping and Revitalizing Banking in the 21st Century,” that will cover several pieces of legislation, including a draft financial data privacy bill.

The hearing will take Wednesday, starting at 10 a.m. ET, and will be streamed live on the committee’s website.

  • Wednesday, 2 p.m. ET: House Financial Services Subcommittee Sophistication or Discrimination hearing, “How the Accredited Investor Definition Unfairly Limits Investment Access for the Non-wealthy and the Need for Reform.”
