House Majority Leader Scalise addresses CUNA GAC
Congressman commits to making sure credit unions can serve their members.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., greeted CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference attendees via video Monday afternoon. He thanked credit unions for playing a key role supporting communities in Louisiana and across the country, especially over the past three years.
He added that Congress has “hit the ground running for credit unions” by passing the Credit Union Board Modernization Act, and said more work is to be done.
“We in Congress know credit unions are committed to serving their members. And we're committed to making sure you can continue to do just that,” he said. “We’ll continue to cut the red tape, and more importantly, we’ll also be holding regulators like the CFPB accountable when they pile on reckless rules and regulations that hurt you and your members.”
