Lisa Ginter Elected 2023 CUNA Board Chair

Credit Union National Association (CUNA) today announced election results for its Board of Directors Executive Committee Members. Lisa Ginter, CEO of CommunityAmerica Credit Union, was elected as the CUNA Board Chair. Ginter shared video remarks to the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) for the first time as Board Chair. 

“It’s an honor to chair CUNA’s Board at a time when the credit union movement is looking to build on great momentum, and I look forward to continued work with CUNA, Leagues, and credit unions to make good on our commitment to improve financial well-being” Ginter said. “Our combination of steadfast focus on our members and determination to advance the communities we serve means credit unions have plenty to work for in the next year and beyond.” 

"Lisa strongly believes in the capability of credit unions to look for bigger and better ways to serve their communities,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “We’re excited to have her leading the CUNA Board of Directors in what’s going to be a pivotal year for the CUNA-League system, and our movement as a whole.” 

During today's CUNA Board organizational meeting, the Board elected the following officers: 

•    Lisa Ginter, CEO of CommunityAmerica CU as CUNA Chair 

•    Caroline Willard, President/CEO of Cornerstone League as CUNA Vice Chair 

•    Patrick Pierce, President/CEO of City & County CU as CUNA Secretary 

•    Brian Best, President/CEO of GTE Financial CU as CUNA Treasurer 

•    Jim Morrell, President/CEO of Peninsula CU as CUNA At-Large Executive Committee Member 

The Executive Committee Members steer CUNA throughout the year. They are supported by Directors that represent the diversity of the credit union movement. The newly elected members will serve through the 2024 Annual General Meeting. 

CUNA has had 51 Chairs; Ginter is the 52nd and the 6th female chair.
