CFPB reform, digital assets hearings this week in Congress

The House and Senate are in Washington, D.C., this week, with the House expected to consider various legislation, and the Senate to process executive and judicial nominations. CUNA will be engaged with several hearings, including House Financial Services subcommittee hearings on Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) reform and digital assets.

The House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy will conduct a hearing, "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: Ripe for Reform," Thursday at 10 a.m. ET. 

The House Financial Services Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Inclusion will conduct a hearing, "Coincidence or Coordinated? The Administration’s Attack on the Digital Asset Ecosystem ," Thursday at 2 p.m. ET. 

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will appear before the House Ways and Means Committee Thursday and the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Friday to discuss the President's FY2024 budget request.
