Bank collapse, section 1071 rule hearings this week

Both chambers of Congress are in Washington, D.C., this week, and will consider various legislation. The House Financial Services Committee and Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee will conduct the first hearings into recent bank collapses.

The Senate Banking Committee will conduct its hearing Tuesday, starting at 10 a.m. ET, while the House Financial Services Committee’s will be Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. ET.

Both will feature testimony from Federal Reserve Board Chairman Martin Gruenberg, Vice Chair Michael Barr, and Treasury Under Secretary for Domestic Finance Nellie Liang.

CUNA will also be engaged with a House Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access hearing Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s section 1071 rulemaking.
