CFPB reform markup, digital assets hearings this week

The U.S. House will address debt ceiling legislation with the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023.  In addition, members will work on H.J. Res. 39, disapproving the rule submitted by the Department of Commerce relating to “Procedures Covering Suspension of Liquidation, Duties and Estimated Duties in Accord with Presidential Proclamation 10414.”  

In addition to the Senate processing several judicial nominations, there is a full committee hearing schedule in the House. It starts on Wednesday with the House Financial Services Committee holding a markup of capital formation and CFPB reform legislation.

  • Thursday, 2 p.m. ET, House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion hearing: "The Future of Digital Assets: Identifying the Regulatory Gaps in Digital Asset Market Structure." 
  • Friday, 9 a.m. ET, House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance holds hearing: "The Reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program: FEMA's Perspective."
