Stverak shares story of CU difference with members of Congress

CUNA wrapped up its Financial Literacy Month to members of Congress with a message this week highlighting what the credit union difference has made on one member. The message shared the story of Kiona Sinks, a member of CommunityAmerica Credit Union, a video also seen on the mainstage of the 2023 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference.

“As not-for-profit, member-owned, financial cooperatives, credit unions are the best financial partner for consumers. Please take a moment to learn about Kiona and how a credit union changed her life,” wrote CUNA Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Federal Government Affairs Jason Stverak.

Stverak also encouraged members of Congress to visit the Advancing Communities website to see stories of the credit union difference in their states and communities.

The message included a link to CUNA’s white paper, “Credit Unions Lead in Improving Financial Well-being for All.”
