'Junk fee,' blockchain hearings scheduled this week in D.C.

The House and Senate are in Washington, D.C., this week, with the House to consider legislation on the floor, and the Senate to consider executive nominations.

The Senate Commerce Committee will conduct a hearing Thursday at 10 a.m. ET titled, "Protecting Consumers from Junk Fees."

These include:

  • Tuesday, 10 a.m. ET: House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy hearing, “Uncertain Debt Management: Treasury Markets and Financial Institutions.”
  • Tuesday, 2 p.m. ET: House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs and Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services joint hearing, "ESG Part II: The Cascading Impacts of ESG Compliance."
  • Wednesday, 10 a.m. ET: House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce hearing, “Building Blockchains: Exploring Web3 and Other Applications for Distributed Ledger Technologies.”  
  • Wednesday, 10 a.m. ET: House Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions hearing, “Dollar Dominance: Preserving the U.S. Dollar's Status as the Global Reserve Currency.”
