Foundation, Hawaii League coordinating support after deadly wildfires

The National Credit Union Foundation is working with the Hawaii Credit Union League and credit unions on support needed in the wake of this week’s deadly wildfires.

Wildfires swept across the island of Maui late Wednesday, killing at least 36 people and destroying the history Lahaina Town neighborhood.

The Foundation’s CUAid disaster relief grant program is always active and will begin processing disaster relief grants with coordination with local credit union CEOs.

CUAid supports credit union volunteers and employees affected by natural disasters through disaster relief grants.

The Hawaii Credit Union League is also working with the Valley Isle Chapter to coordinate monetary donations. The League has approved a $10,000 donation to support efforts to help those impacted by the fires.
