Nussle to speak at NAFCU Congressional Caucus in September

August 14, 2023

CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle will attend NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus to discuss advocacy priorities and what the proposed transformation to America’s Credit Unions means for the credit union industry. Should members of CUNA and NAFCU approve of the proposed merger, Nussle will lead the new organization.

NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus is happening Sept. 10-13 in Washington, D.C. A key focus of this year’s event will be fighting back against the harmful big box interchange bill that would extend interchange requirements to credit cards.

Nussle joins an exceptional speaker lineup – including an opening keynote discussion with Donna Brazile and former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, as well as remarks from NCUA Board members, key lawmakers and administration officials.

Throughout the week, Nussle will join NAFCU President/CEO Dan Berger on stage to welcome attendees, sit down with NAFCU Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Greg Mesack to discuss top credit union issues and the importance of advocacy, and meet with credit union leaders to discuss the impact of the potential merger and answer questions.

Congressional Caucus provides attendees the opportunity to meet directly with lawmakers and regulators to advocate for key credit union issues.

NAFCU staff will share tips on how credit unions can best advocate for regulatory relief and industry-sought legislation. These vital conversations will help Congress better champion and support credit unions and the 137 million members they serve.
