Missouri credit unions talk interchange, CFPB reform with Rep. Burlison

September 8, 2023

Springfield, Mo. area credit union advocates recently met with U.S. Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., at Multipli Credit Union to discuss key credit union issues currently up for debate in Washington, D.C.

Burlison was briefed on credit unions' continued opposition to the big box interchange bill that would be detrimental to Missouri credit unions if passed.

Burlison was also briefed on credit union support for Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) reform that would transition the bureau from a single director to a five-member commission under the appropriations process for congressional oversight.

Credit unions also asked the congressman to support the exemption for veteran small business owners under the current member business lending cap.
