The Foundation of VCCU, Ventura (Calif.) County Credit Union’s (VCCU) philanthropic nonprofit organization, has awarded $75,000 in grants to 17 nonprofits who deliver invaluable help and support to our local community.

This grant cycle, which is the second round of awards distributed in 2023, set a new record for the Foundation of VCCU, as it is the most the organization has ever awarded at a single time.

The 17 organizations serve a wide variety of our neighbors in need including foster children, college students, cancer patients, and individuals with hearing impairment, as well as families struggling with homelessness, housing and food insecurity.

Grant recipients include James Storehouse, Kids & Families Together, Andrea Grace Soter-Simonson Memorial Foundation, Cancer Support of Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties, LOVE VC, Manna Conejo, Ojai Hearing Foundation, Lutheran Social Services, Nucleus.CA, Samaritan Center SV, Saticoy Food Hub, Assistance League Conejo Valley, Casa Pacifica, Coalition for Family Harmony, Many Mansions and Ventura College Foundation.

“These nonprofits work every day to bridge the gap between struggling individuals and the resources they so desperately need,” says Alma Medina, the foundation’s board president. “We are proud to support these organizations as they dedicate themselves to making our community happier, healthier and stronger.”

Since its founding in 2015, The Foundation has provided over $400,000 in grants to support nonprofits serving the Ventura and Santa Barbara County communities. The Foundation’s giving focuses on the underserved, the beautification and preservation of the environment, and the health and well-being of the region.
